Suluada in June: High Sun, Early Start, Long Day

June is the month the light does its best work. High sun over a shallow bay with pale sand is exactly the combination that produces the colour Suluada is known for, and June has more of it than almost any month of the year.

It is also the month the deck starts to demand respect. Nothing about the timetable changes between May and June — the honest difference is heat, light and how you handle both.

The June Schedule

From Side, every day, all year. Pickup falls in the 05:30–06:00 window across the Side–Manavgat band, with an optional breakfast stop at Adrasan paid locally. The boat sails at 09:40, docks back at 16:00, and the whole thing takes around 10 hours door to door. Minimum age 6. See the Suluada boat tour from Side.

From Antalya, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Tuesday and Thursday run all year; Saturday sits in the timetable from April to October, so June keeps all three. Pickup is between 08:30 and 09:00 from central Antalya, Kemer and Beldibi, and the day runs to about 12 hours, with snorkelling masks and pool floats included. Same harbour, same island, same price. If your June week does not include a Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday, the Side boat sails every single day — that is the whole reason the two departures exist.

Why the Early Start Earns Its Keep in June

The 05:30–06:00 pickup is the thing most guests hesitate over, and June is the month it makes the most sense. Leaving early means the road leg happens before the heat settles in, the boat sails at 09:40 while the day is still building, and you are in the water at the island around the point most people are only starting to look for shade at the hotel pool.

It also means the light is doing what you want when you get there. The turquoise in the bay is not a filter — it is shallow water over light sand reflecting sun back upwards, and it is at its most saturated when the sun is high. Being anchored at the island in the middle of the day is the entire point of the schedule.

The trade-off is real and we will not dress it up: this is an early alarm and a long day, and by the time you are back at the hotel you will have done ten hours. How early is the pickup, really answers the question honestly, and the day itinerary shows where the hours actually go.

Sun and Shade: the June Discipline

A boat gives you sun from two directions — down from the sky and back up off the water. In June that combination is stronger than most holidaymakers assume, because the breeze while the boat is moving hides how much you are getting.

• Cover up between swims. A shirt or wrap on deck does more for you than reapplying sun cream after the damage is done.
• Hat and sunglasses, not optional. Glare off a flat sea is relentless in June.
• Drink more than you think you need. Lunch is included; drinks at the bar are not, so bring cash if you plan to buy them through the day.
• Get out of the sun in the middle hours. Where a boat has shaded space it fills early, so plan as if you will not get any.

June with Children

June is when families start arriving in numbers, and the tour handles them well — with two honest caveats.

First, the minimum age on the Side departure is 6. Second, this is a full day in the sun for a child as much as for an adult, and the heat is more of a factor in June than in May. Shade, water, a hat and a rash vest for swimming make the difference between a great day and a tired one.

What works in your favour: swimming stops are the backbone of the day, life jackets are available on request, and the boat anchors near the island with tender boats shuttling guests into the bay where conditions allow. Booking a June Day

The price is flat all year: €40 per adult, €30 per child aged 4–10, infants 0–3 free, from every pickup point on the coast. You book free online and pay on the tour day, with free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure.

Lunch is cooked on board — grilled fish or chicken with pasta or rice, the day's Turkish mezes, a seasonal salad, then fruit and tea. Drinks at the bar are excluded. Along the route there are swimming stops at the island and the surrounding bays, and the Love Cave is one of the island's named features, which most guests photograph from the water.

Free hotel transfer applies across the Side–Manavgat band and to central Antalya, Lara, Kemer and Beldibi.
