How Early Is the Pickup for a Suluada Boat Tour?

2026-07-26 · 5 min read

The Side departure collects you from your hotel between 05:30 and 06:00. The Antalya departure collects you between 08:30 and 09:00. Those two windows are the only pickup times we will ever quote you, and everything below explains why.

Yes, the Side start is early. We are not going to soften that. It is the question we are asked most often before anyone books, and the honest answer is that the alarm is the price of the day. The good part of Suluada happens because the boat is already in the water while most of the coast is still asleep.

The Two Pickup Windows

Every boat to Suluada sails from Adrasan harbour. One island, one harbour, two ways of reaching it — and the road leg in front of the harbour is the only thing that changes.

Both boats leave the same harbour on the same water. The gap between the two pickup windows is a difference in road distance, nothing more.

Why the Side Pickup Is at 05:30

Work backwards from the boat. It sails at 09:40 from Adrasan, on the western side of Antalya province, and the Side region sits well to the east of it. The vehicle has to cover that road before the lines come off — and it does not cover it in one straight run, because it is collecting other guests along the way.

There is also a stop built into the morning. The vehicle pauses at Adrasan for an optional breakfast, paid at the local restaurant if you want it. Skip it and sit by the water instead. Either way, that pause is part of why the departure from your hotel sits where it does.

So the chain is fixed at the far end: the 09:40 sailing, the breakfast stop before it, the road leg before that, your hotel at the start. Move the pickup an hour later and the boat leaves without you. Our Suluada day itinerary lays the whole sequence out in order.

Why We Never Print a Time for Your Hotel

Because it would be a guess dressed up as a fact.

A pickup route is an order, not a timetable. Your hotel's position in that order decides whether you are collected near the start of the window or near the end of it, and that position depends on who else is travelling that morning. Anyone who publishes an exact minute for your hotel on a web page is inventing a number they cannot honour.

What we do instead is simple. You get the window when you book, and we confirm your pickup with you. Free hotel transfer applies across the Side and Manavgat band, and for central Antalya, Lara, Kemer and Beldibi on the Antalya departure. For the Belek band, the Alanya band, Kundu, Konyaaltı, Göynük, Kiriş, Çamyuva and Tekirova we confirm the pickup individually rather than making a blanket promise. Send us your hotel name and we will tell you exactly where you stand.

One group has no pickup window at all. Adrasan, Olympos, Çıralı, Finike, Demre and Kaş have no transfer product, so guests staying there make their own way to Adrasan harbour and meet the boat. For them the only time that matters is the 09:40 sailing, and it does not move.

Making an Early Start Painless

Nobody enjoys 05:30 in the abstract. In practice it is a manageable morning if you set it up the night before.

If the early alarm is genuinely a deal-breaker, the Antalya boat gives you the gentler morning, with pickup between 08:30 and 09:00. You pay for it at the other end: around 12 hours in total, and only three sailing days a week in season. We weigh the two against each other in Side or Antalya departure, and first-timers usually find their answer in first boat trip tips.

What the Early Start Buys You

Light, mostly. And room to swim.

Leaving early puts you on the water for the best part of the day rather than the leftovers of it. The crossing runs along a coast of pine-clad cliffs. The boat anchors near the island, and where conditions allow, tender boats shuttle guests into the bay. That pale sand under shallow water is what turns the sea turquoise, and it reads strongest with the sun high.

Lunch is cooked on board while you swim: grilled fish or chicken with pasta or rice, the day's Turkish mezes, a seasonal salad, then fruit and tea. Drinks at the bar are not included. The price is the same wherever you were collected — €40 per adult, €30 per child aged 4–10, infants 0–3 free. You book free online and pay on the tour day, with free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure. It is all itemised on the prices page, and the booking steps are set out in how to book.

One early alarm, one island. We think it is a fair trade.

Frequently Asked

How early is the pickup for the Suluada boat tour?+

The Side departure collects you between 05:30 and 06:00, and the Antalya departure between 08:30 and 09:00. Those are the only two pickup windows, and your exact time sits inside the window for your departure. The boat itself sails from Adrasan harbour at 09:40.

Why is the Side pickup so early?+

Because the boat sails at 09:40 from Adrasan on the western side of Antalya province, and the road leg from the Side region takes the whole morning. The vehicle also collects other guests along the way and pauses at Adrasan for an optional breakfast. Move the pickup later and the boat leaves without you.

Can you tell me my exact pickup time for my hotel?+

Not on a web page, because a pickup route is an order rather than a timetable and your position in it changes. You get the window when you book, and we confirm your pickup with you directly. Send us your hotel name and we will confirm exactly where you stand.

Is there a later departure if 05:30 is too early?+

Yes. The Antalya departure has a pickup window of 08:30 to 09:00 from central Antalya, Kemer and Beldibi. The trade-off is length and days: around 12 hours in total, sailing Tuesday and Thursday all year plus Saturday from April to October.
