A Family Day Afloat

Suluada Family Boat Tour

Suluada — the island the whole coast calls the Turkish Maldives — is the easiest family day trip to get right in Antalya. One flat price covers every pickup point: €40 per adult, €30 per child aged 4–10, infants up to 3 sail free. You book free online and pay on the day of the tour.

The day is built around things children genuinely enjoy: a real boat ride, a white sandy bay with calm turquoise water, swim breaks in sheltered coves, and a freshly grilled lunch served on deck. On the Side departure, the crew works in English, German, Russian and Turkish.

Two departures reach the island. The Suluada boat tour from Side sails every day, while the departure from Antalya, Kemer and Beldibi runs on selected days and includes pool floats children love. Here is how the family day actually works.

Why Suluada works so well with kids

Suluada is a small rocky island off the Adrasan coast, west of Antalya. Its twin beaches and light-sand bay give the water the strong turquoise colour that earned the island its nickname — and the main bay is calm and sandy. Boats anchor near the island, and where conditions allow, tender boats shuttle guests to the beach, so small legs never face a long open-water swim.

Two practical notes. First, there is no shop on the island — pack water, snacks, hats and sunscreen before you leave the hotel. Second, the route itself is part of the fun: pine-clad cliffs, the Love Cave and the sheltered cove of Domuz Bay all pass within pointing distance. Our guide to visiting Suluada with kids covers the packing list in detail.

The family day, hour by hour

On the daily Side departure, hotel pickup falls in the 05:30–06:00 window — early, but children simply carry on sleeping in the air-conditioned vehicle. An optional breakfast stop at Adrasan around 08:30 is payable at the local restaurant. The boat sails at 09:40, spends the day at the island and its bays, and docks back at 16:00, with hotel return after that — roughly 10 hours door to door.

The Antalya departure collects from central Antalya, Kemer and Beldibi in the 08:30–09:00 window and takes about 12 hours in total. It runs on Tuesday and Thursday all year, plus Saturday from April to October — not daily, so check the calendar before you plan. Exact hotel pickup times depend on your address and are confirmed with your booking.

What's included — and what lunch looks like

The flat price includes the two-way hotel transfer, the boat cruise, guidance and the swim breaks at Suluada and the surrounding bays. Lunch is cooked on board: a choice of grilled fish or chicken with pasta or rice, daily Turkish mezes such as stuffed vine leaves, peppers and lentil patties, and a seasonal salad, followed by fruit and Turkish tea. Drinks at the bar are paid separately.

The Antalya departure additionally includes snorkelling masks and pool floats, marine insurance and harbour fees, with free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure. The optional Adrasan breakfast on the Side route, drinks and personal beach gear are excluded on both. Full pricing detail lives on our prices page.

Ages, safety and booking

The pricing is simple: adults €40, children aged 4–10 €30, infants up to 3 free — the same from every pickup point on the coast. The Side departure lists a minimum age of 6; younger children travel free of charge but must be supervised by an adult on deck at all times. The calm main bay is where most families spend the longest stop of the day.

Booking is free and online: you reserve your seats, receive a confirmation e-mail with a printable ticket, and pay on the day of the tour. If the harbour authority cancels a departure for rough sea, you are rebooked or refunded. Planning more time in the water? Our Suluada swimming tour page shows how the swim stops work.
