Morning Trips vs Full-Day Trips: Why Suluada Only Works as a Full Day

We do not run a morning trip to Suluada. There is one shape of this day and it is a full one — around 10 hours door to door from the Side region, around 12 hours from Antalya. If what you want is a half-day on the water and a free afternoon, this is not that trip, and we would rather tell you here than at your hotel door.

The reason is not commercial. It is geography.

Where the Island Is, and Why a Morning Version Cannot Exist

Suluada is a small rocky island off Adrasan, in the Kumluca district on the western side of Antalya province. There is no road to it and no shop on it. Every boat that reaches the island sails from Adrasan harbour — ours included.

That single fact governs the timetable. Your hotel changes the road leg in front of the boat and nothing else. Whether you are collected across the Side–Manavgat band or in central Antalya, Kemer or Beldibi, the same harbour, the same crossing and the same island are waiting at the end of it. Take the day apart and the answer is obvious. It has three pieces:

• The road leg to Adrasan harbour — the same length whether you sail for two hours or for eight.
• The crossing out to the island and back — set by the sea and the boat, not by a brochure.
• The island time — the swimming, the bay, the part you actually came for.

Now try to halve it. The road leg cannot shrink. The crossing cannot shrink. The only piece with any give in it is the island time, which is the piece holding all the value. A morning trip to Suluada would be a day that is almost entirely transport, sold at the price of a day and delivering a photograph.

So we build it the other way round. The Suluada boat tour from Side and the Suluada boat tour from Antalya both give the island the hours it needs and accept a long day as the price. That is the trade, plainly stated. What those hours are spent on is set out on the full-day tour page.

What the Full Day Actually Buys

Not one stop. Several.

The boat anchors near the island rather than tying up at a pier, and where conditions allow, tender boats shuttle guests into the bay. Around that there are swimming breaks at Suluada and in the surrounding bays, including the sheltered cove of Domuz Bay on the route, and the Love Cave, one of the island's named features, seen from the water. The pale sand of the twin beaches is the reason the water reads turquoise at all.

Lunch is cooked on board while you are in the water: grilled fish or chicken with pasta or rice, the day's Turkish mezes, a seasonal salad, then fruit and Turkish tea afterwards. Drinks at the bar are not included.

None of that fits into a morning. All of it fits into a day without rushing. There is even a stretch in the middle when nothing is scheduled at all — which is the part most guests describe once they are home.

The Two Departures, Exactly As They Run

The Side departure runs every day. Hotel pickup falls in the 05:30–06:00 window across the Side region, there is an optional breakfast stop at Adrasan paid at the local restaurant, the boat sails at 09:40 and docks back at 16:00. Door to door, plan for about 10 hours. The minimum age on this departure is 6.

The Antalya departure does not sail every day, and we will not let you plan around a boat that is not going out. It runs Tuesday and Thursday all year, plus Saturday from April to October, with a pickup window of 08:30–09:00 from central Antalya, Kemer and Beldibi. Count on around 12 hours in total. Who Should Not Book a Full Day

Honesty is cheaper than a refund, so here is the other side.

The early start from Side is genuinely early, and it is not negotiable — the boat sails at 09:40 and the road leg has to happen before it. If your group includes someone who will not enjoy a long day out, or a child under 6 on the Side departure, this is the wrong day to buy. If you are hoping to be back at the hotel for a late lunch, it is also the wrong day. And if you are staying on the west coast — Adrasan, Olympos, Çıralı, Finike, Demre or Kaş — there is no transfer product for that stretch; guests make their own way to Adrasan harbour and meet the boat there.

Weather has the last word too. In rough sea the harbour authority can stop departures, in which case you are rebooked or refunded. Free cancellation applies up to 24 hours before departure, so holding a booking costs you nothing.

What the Day Costs

One price for the whole coast: €40 per adult, €30 per child aged 4–10, infants 0–3 free. Pickup in Side costs the same as pickup in Kemer. You book free online and pay on the tour day — there is no prepayment.
