Suluada in October: The Last Saturday Sailings of the Year

October is the last month of the Saturday sailing. The Suluada boat tour from Antalya runs Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday through October, and from November the Saturday is gone until spring. The Suluada boat tour from Side is unaffected: it sails every day, all year. The price stays €40 per adult, €30 per child aged 4–10, infants 0–3 free.

That deadline is the single most practical fact about October, and it is worth planning around if your dates fall near the end of the month.

The October Schedule — and the Change That Follows It

Both departures sail from Adrasan harbour. The pickup band changes the road leg, never the boat.

• From Side — every day. Hotel pickup 05:30–06:00 across the Side–Manavgat band, optional breakfast stop at Adrasan paid at the restaurant, sailing at 09:40, back alongside at 16:00. About 10 hours door to door, minimum age 6.
• From Antalya — Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, for one more month. Pickup 08:30–09:00 from central Antalya, Kemer and Beldibi. Around 12 hours, with snorkelling masks and pool floats included.

The Saturday departure from Antalya exists only from April to October. In November it stops, leaving Tuesday and Thursday — a real narrowing that catches out anyone who books late in the season on assumption rather than on the calendar. What October Feels Like on the Water

Softer, quieter and noticeably more variable than September.

Mornings are the big change. The 05:30–06:00 transfer out of the Side–Manavgat band is a genuinely cool start now, and stepping onto a boat at 09:40 in a wet swimsuit and a t-shirt is a different proposition than it was in high summer. Bring a layer. You will take it off by mid-morning and you will want it again on the way home.

The sea, on the other hand, is still in summer's debt. It cools far more slowly than the air, which is why October regularly delivers the best combination of the whole season: warm swimming, cool air, low sun and an island that has most of itself back. Where conditions allow, tender boats still shuttle guests from the anchorage into the bay at Suluada, and the twin beaches hold their colour — that turquoise comes from pale sand and shallow water, not from the calendar.

The variability is the honest part. October is a transitional month on this coast: some days are indistinguishable from September, others arrive with wind and a swell that changes how the day runs. That is a real risk to plan for, not a detail to bury.

Weather, Sea Conditions and Your Booking

Two protections matter more in October than in any summer month, and both are standard.

First, free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure. You book free online and pay on the tour day, so changing your mind costs nothing. Second, if the harbour authority stops sailings because of rough sea, you are rebooked or refunded — that decision is not ours and not yours, and we do not sail against it.

The practical advice that follows: if you have flexibility in your dates, book early in your stay rather than on your last full day. What to Pack for a Cooler Morning

The list changes shape in October. Remember that there is no shop on the island — you are self-sufficient from pickup until the boat is alongside at 16:00.

• A proper layer. A fleece, a hoodie or a light jacket for the early transfer and the return leg. This is the item people most often wish they had brought.
• Sun protection anyway. A low sun is still a strong sun, and it reflects off the water for most of the day.
• A larger towel, and something dry to change into.
• Cash for the bar, which is not included, and for the optional breakfast at Adrasan.

Who Travels in October — and What It Costs

Couples, photographers, retired travellers and people who actively dislike a crowded deck. The school holidays are over across most of Europe, the coast has thinned out, and the boat is a calmer place.
