Suluada or a City Day in Antalya? Plan the Boat First

2026-07-26 · 5 min read

Book the boat first. A city day in Antalya can happen on any day of your holiday; the boat cannot. That one asymmetry answers the question for most people before the comparison even starts.

The Suluada boat tour from Antalya sails Tuesday and Thursday all year, plus Saturday from April to October. It does not run every day, and pretending otherwise would only cost you a morning at a hotel door. So your boat day is largely chosen for you — and the city days are whatever the week has left over.

The Two Days Ask Very Different Things of You

A boat day is a commitment. Pickup from central Antalya, Kemer or Beldibi falls in the 08:30–09:00 window, and the whole thing runs to around 12 hours door to door. You are on somebody else's timetable from the moment the vehicle arrives until it drops you back. In exchange you get an island you cannot reach any other way.

A city day asks for nothing. You start when you wake up, you stop when you have had enough, you sit down in the shade whenever you like, and you can abandon the plan halfway through at no cost. It is the most flexible day of any holiday, which is exactly why it should be the one that flexes.

That is the whole scheduling logic: put the fixed thing in the calendar first, then fill the gaps with the thing that fits anywhere.

What Only the Boat Day Can Give You

Suluada is a small rocky island off Adrasan, in the Kumluca district on the western side of Antalya province. There is no road to it. There is no shop on it. Every boat that reaches it sails from Adrasan harbour, so there is no version of this where you drive up, park and walk in.

What that buys is a day the city cannot copy: swimming breaks at the island and in the surrounding bays, including the sheltered cove of Domuz Bay on the route, the pale sand of the twin beaches that makes the water read turquoise, and lunch cooked on board while you are in the sea — grilled fish or chicken with pasta or rice, the day's Turkish mezes, a seasonal salad, then fruit and Turkish tea. Snorkelling masks and pool floats are included on the Antalya boat. Drinks at the bar are not included.

The island is the reason people remember this holiday in five years. A good city day is a good day; it is rarely the story you tell.

What Only the City Can Give You

We are not going to pretend the boat wins on every axis, because it does not.

If someone in your group is anxious about a long day on a boat, the honest move is to give them the city day, not to talk them onto the deck.

A Week That Holds Both

Staying in central Antalya, Kemer or Beldibi? Anchor your week on a Tuesday or a Thursday — or a Saturday between April and October — and build the rest around it. Keep the day after the boat gentle. It is a long day and a lot of sun, and a second big excursion straight afterwards is how holidays start to feel like work.

Put the boat early in your stay if you can. Free cancellation applies up to 24 hours before departure, and in rough sea the harbour authority can stop departures, in which case you are rebooked or refunded. Booking early leaves room for a second sailing day if the weather takes the first one.

Staying in the Side region instead? The Suluada boat tour from Side runs every day, so the calendar stops arguing with you. Pickup falls in the 05:30–06:00 window, there is an optional breakfast stop at Adrasan paid at the local restaurant, the boat sails at 09:40, docks at 16:00, and the day runs to about 10 hours door to door. The minimum age on that departure is 6. Which departure suits you is worked through in from Side vs from Antalya and in choosing your departure.

What the Boat Day Costs

One flat price for the whole coast: €40 per adult, €30 per child aged 4–10, infants 0–3 free. Pickup in central Antalya costs the same as pickup in Side. You book free online and pay on the tour day — nothing is taken in advance, so holding a date while you finish planning the rest of the week costs you nothing.

Free hotel transfer covers central Antalya and Lara, Kemer and Beldibi, and the whole Side–Manavgat band. For Konyaaltı, Kundu, Göynük, Kiriş, Çamyuva, Tekirova, the Belek band and the Alanya band we confirm pickup individually — send us your hotel and we will tell you exactly what is possible for your date. From Adrasan, Olympos, Çıralı, Finike, Demre and Kaş there is no transfer product; guests meet the boat at Adrasan harbour.

The full breakdown lives on the prices page, and if you want to see how the hours are actually spent before you give up a whole day, read the Suluada day itinerary. Antalya-specific logistics are on our boat tour from Antalya page.

Frequently Asked

Should I do the Suluada boat trip or spend the day in Antalya city?+

Do both, but book the boat first. The Antalya departure sails Tuesday and Thursday all year plus Saturday from April to October, so its dates are fixed, while a city day works on any day of your holiday. Slot the boat into the calendar and let the city fill the gaps.

Which days does the boat from Antalya sail?+

Tuesday and Thursday all year, plus Saturday from April to October. Hotel pickup falls between 08:30 and 09:00 from central Antalya, Kemer and Beldibi, and the day runs to around 12 hours door to door.

Can I fit Suluada and a city day into the same day?+

No. The Antalya departure takes around 12 hours door to door, and the Side departure around 10, because every boat sails from Adrasan harbour and the road leg happens at both ends. Treat the boat as a full day and give the city its own.

What if my only free day is not a sailing day from Antalya?+

The Side departure runs every day, with pickup between 05:30 and 06:00 across the Side–Manavgat band. If you are staying outside that band, message us with your hotel and date and we will confirm individually what is possible rather than guess.
