Suluada or an Antalya Harbour Cruise: How Much of Your Week Do You Spend?

Count it in hours before you count it in euros. A cruise out of the old harbour below Kaleiçi is the kind of plan you make after breakfast rather than build a week around. Their length varies from boat to boat; ask the boat directly rather than trusting a number printed by somebody who is not sailing it.

Suluada is the opposite arrangement. Pickup from the city falls in the 08:30–09:00 window and the whole thing runs to about twelve hours. You are not fitting it around anything. It replaces the day.

So the real question is how many free days your week holds. With one, the choice genuinely matters. With four it does not — take both, on different dates, and stop agonising over it.

The old harbour sits below Kaleiçi, a walk down through the old streets. From the water you get the cliff face, the walls above it, the coast running out towards the beaches and, further along, the waterfall dropping straight into the sea. Some boats stop to swim, some are sightseeing only, some go out in the evening. It asks nothing of you: no transfer, no alarm, no planning.

A small rocky island with a light-sand bay, pine-clad cliffs and water bright enough that the Maldives nickname stuck. The boat anchors near the island and, where conditions allow, tender boats shuttle guests into the bay. Snorkel masks and pool floats are carried on this boat, along with swim stops, a grilled lunch cooked on deck, marine insurance and harbour fees. Drinks at the bar are not included and there is no shop on the island. Life jackets are available on request; non-swimmers are welcome.

Take the harbour cruise if the week is already full, if tomorrow is a travel day, or if someone in the group would not enjoy twelve hours built around a boat. Spending a whole day badly is worse than spending an hour well.
