Suluada Boat Tour from Demre

Suluada is reachable from Demre, with one honest condition: there is no transfer on this part of the coast, so you travel to Adrasan harbour yourself and join the boat there. Demre spends its days looking at stone. The rock-cut Lycian tombs of ancient Myra sit above the town, the Church of St Nicholas draws visitors from across Europe, and greenhouses stretch out over the plain in between. It is a town of ruins and farming rather than beach clubs — which is exactly why a boat day works so well here. The island supplies what Demre does not: pale sand, deep turquoise water and a long, slow swim.

The sailing is our daily Suluada tour without the road leg. Departure from Adrasan harbour is at 09:40 and the boat is back alongside at 16:00. It anchors off the island, and where conditions allow tenders carry guests into the bay — swimming and snorkelling at the twin beaches, Love Cave and the sheltered Domuz Bay. Lunch is cooked on board: grilled fish or chicken with pasta or rice, Turkish mezes, seasonal salad, then fruit and Turkish tea.
